I have been a little neglectful of my blog, unfortunately I lost a bit of focus for a couple days or so, which was easy to do with a long break from sliding. Regardless -I am presently back on track and ready to go!! Tomorrow I have a raceoff against another rookie to see which one of us will be racing in the world cup race this Friday! It’s a HUGE deal and it would be a big honor to...

Still in Calgary. Lifting and staying inside today, weather.com says it’s currently -6°F and “feels like -26° F” Needless to say… it’s a bit chilly up here!

Sliding yesterday was awesome! Cold & Snowy -but not too bad but more importantly the Calgary track is the least physically abusive I’ve ever been on! It’s soo nice!!! Elana had two good trips down and it was a good day of night sliding :) round 2 tomorrow and then race day Friday!

This morning I woke up and it’s snowing in Calgary! This is going to make warming up outside a little more interesting, but thankfully I grew up in Buffalo and have run in the snow from as long as I can remember. The start of the track has a covering over it too, so that will definitely help protect against the elements, then all I have to do is hop in the sled! Sliding for the first time...

Jamie & I have been awake pretty much for over 24 hours at this point! Yesterday was our second race day, Elana & I got 4th in both races (thursday’s and friday’s). As soon as the race was over, we went to pack the bobsled’s into crates, went to awards, ate lunch, then I lifted, showered, packed, had team dinner and some visiting and goodbyes. Jamie and I had a flight...
This is video from race day!! I am the one pushing the red sled with Elana!

Race Day tomorrow and Friday!!! I am braking for Elana Meyers both days -super excited! The weather looks like it’s going to be great and it’s the perfect opportunity for two fantastic days (with 4 awesome pushes)! The race starts at 10:00am tomorrow, I’ll be sanding runners, reviewing some video and getting my mind right until tomorrow.
I am the first push off -this was one of my better pushes! The driver I’m with is Erin Pac 2010 Olympic Bronze Medalist! :)

We have been night sliding almost every day; starting at about 8:30/9:00 pm mountain time which is 2 hours behind my eastern central time. It’s really cool being out under the stars and most days I just look around and think, “I can’t believe I’m really here.” Pushing on this track is a different than at Lake Placid, the downhill run is steeper and the flat is...

Night Sliding tonight, the park city track is sooo much smoother and faster than lake placid! It’s amazing! Sometimes it’s just so hard to believe i’m out here in the mountains, under the stars, bobsledding in the middle of the night! Our condos are also amazing (hot tubs included!!) I will try to post some more pictures soon!
